Dorothy Njagi​-

– is a Communication and International affairs professional with over eight years of experience having demonstrated knowledge and experience in key development sectors both public and private like education, tourism, agriculture, health, advertising, and media. Her career started at the Kenya National Assembly where she trained for a period of 1 ½ years in the Public Relations and Protocol department. She was involved in daily public education during the transformational period from the old to new constitution.
Dorothy demonstrates deftness in documentation and has often contributed to the production of various organizations’ newsletters as well as other flagship publications with rigorous attention to detail. She has exceptional writing skills and is adept at editing and proofreading and often contributes in the Kenya Parliament magazine. She also championed the first Moi University student magazine during her tenure as a student leader.
She has a strong background in developing and implementing communication strategies that elevate an organization’s profile and reputation. Her dedication in exercising the communications mandate for different organizations is also evident by the diligent and consistent way she applies her knowledge with determination and passion.
Dorothy has also been instrumental as a media liaison where she acts as the link between journalists and respective organizations. She is a confident public speaker with the ability to articulate the relevance and impacts of priority programs and activities to her audience. She has also occasionally participated in international forums within the region that brought together international delegates from the public and private sector, civil society organizations, policymaking institutions, the research and development community, academia and development partners. Her dexterity in navigating the digital-media landscape is noteworthy and has contributed towards creating awareness about various issues beyond the practitioners to the wider public.
She holds Master’s Degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Public Relations from Moi University. In addition, she holds a Diploma in Public Relations Management from the Kenya Institute of Management. She is a go-getter and passionate about utilizing her knowledge and skills in an innovative way for the development of Africa.
Dorothy is currently utilizing a communication expertise in contributing to the establishment and smooth take off of Africa CDC a specialised technical institution of the African Union in Southern Africa. She is presently based in Lusaka, Zambia.
